Subject:Doc Pride Benefit AIW Hall Decatur BAND NEEDED ASAP for last set July 6th in Decatur
Hello, I'm Doc Pride,I play with NightMoves (as long as I can for awhile) and have been getting sicker as time goes on, right now I have to use a walker and a chair to play and can barely play even though Im keeping on as long as I can, let alone get up and out some days. The AIW, Kim Vatter and other people locally in Decatur (I recently had to move to Springfield, I lost my apartment) including Gary Williams from C-4 and my other old buddies from back in the 70's and 80's when I played with them are trying to get a benefit together at the AIW. Kim is working on donations and getting help organizing, and I am trying to talk to musicians since I can't help much about doing the benefit. I have been playing around here since 1970 (used to look like John Lennon or least I thought I WAS LOL) and when I came back from California started to play full time at the Downtown Lounge with Rick Wass, Bud Waddington, Harry Marshall and Big Ron Hoffman 7 nights a week, played in Greater Decatur R&B Revue with Dixie Keys for 5 years and started Shady Lady & The Moonkats with Dixie, played in other bands including my band Doc's Holiday, Hot Rod Deluxe, Prime Time, Music Mirage (WAY BACK) Jumpin Jack Daddys have opened for Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Chubby Checker, Rare Earth and several other groups frommy day back in the 60's and 70's and now have been with with NightMoves Southern rock and blues band for 4 yearsIf there is anyway a rock band could help for the final set we'd appreciate it. Kim Vatter (she's got long black hair and is always there at the AIW Friday and Saturday usually), and helps with all the benefits, her number is on the flyer and what we need is listed at the left of the flyer and at the bottom of this email. If there is anything you can do we'd appreciate it. I am trying to keep playing but it gets harder to do and , well the flyer says it all. THX in advance for anything you can do or anyone you might know who can help in ANY way, foam plates and bowls, plastic spoons and forks larger donations, whatever..but we do need another band. I hope you will consider it , please contact me ASAP if you can. getting down to the wire and we need one last band, everything else is ready.
Peace & Love to all
Doc, Vickie, Kim and Eddie and Mike from Nightmoves band and The AIW Hall
Here's the text from the flyer, sorry I cant attach one with the pics on it.

Doc has been called a legend by many, friend & inspiration to many musicians in the Decatur music scene for 30 years & needs help as his health declines to pay for medicine, medical bills & to keep a roof over his head. Doc has been diagnosed in the last 2 years with advanced Fibromyalgia, constant pain, short term memory loss, Scoliosis & Kyphoscoliosis, Lumbosacral & Cervical degeneration in his spine, advanced degenerative arthritis & his muscle mass is degenerating & has lost 100 pounds.
